I was provided a design brief with synthesized research insights from two sets of users; photographers and customers seeking to hire a photographer. With these insights provided I was then tasked with designing a native application to show how I would approach the problem.
First, I wrote down the key insights from both the users and the photographers. In cross referencing what both said, it turns out that both the photographer and the clients are looking for very similar things (Trust, Specialty, Credibility, Price and Consultation).
Understanding the overlap between the two user groups helped define and prioritize which features I would consider the MVP. Namely a search function that showed general specialty, a price range, and a rating given by other users.
Since trust and credibility were the two most prevalent overlap between both user bases, showing the rating and testimonials of any profile you were looking at is the most critical design decision as I believe the actionable confidence in the seeker will inspire a higher conversion/hiring rate for the photographers on the platform while putting the users anxieties at ease trying to hire someone off of the internet.
Although this challenge was meant to test my design and product thinking skills, If I were to continue in the iterative spirit and UX and Product design I would:
1. Create an interactive prototype of my solution.
2. Create a testing script, define my KPI’s and test users on my interactive prototype.
3. Based on my testing results, I would iterate on the design with the data gathered from my usability tests.
